In Ireland along the hills lived various families of farmers. Among them lived a family of Coopers, with a son Christian, daughter Sandra, with their parents. They were very hardworking people. Mr. Cooper was a strict man with rough words. He never appreciated Christian in anyway ever. After school, Christian used to come on field, bring food for his father, work with him late, and in evening used to march their way back to home.
Time was passing , and one day, Christian father saw a horse in market at an auction. Everybody was bidding highest amount of that horse. It was one fine horse with muscular appearance. Christian father in the end bought that horse with the highest bidding, and lost all his savings, and home in exchange of it. Mrs. Cooper became a lot angry and started blabbering, but Mr. Cooper did not listen to anybody. Sandra made her mother calm. When Christian came from school, he saw a horse standing on their field. He asked his father “Papa, whose horse is it?”. His father replied “ours”. Christian became very happy and started going near to the horse. But he was not able to tame the horse, and horse started running away from Christian.
Christian felt bad, but did not lose his hope. Daily he used to call the horse, but was not able to tame him. One day, Christian was eating an apple, and accidently he gave the apple to horse.Horse loved the apple. Christian kept name of horse as Cloud. Slowly slowly Cloud and Christian became very good friends. On one whistle of Christian, Cloud used to come running.
Christian father was growing old, and their field was not giving the desired amount of crop, which they could sell to pay their debts. Christian and Cloud, started working on their field, day and night, from ploughing the field, to irrigating them , and in the end the highest yield of crop in the whole village was in the fields of Cooper’s family. Christian’s father paid all his debts, and family became a happy family once again, like years before!. But this happiness was not for long. The announcement of war in the country spread like disease. And Government started enlisting young Boys and healthy horses in army. Christian’s and Cloud name was also enlisted in army. The Cooper’s family became sad. The night before enlisting in army, Christian’s mother started clamantly crying and asked him not to go. But Christian was determined to go.In the morning when Christian was waving goodbye to his family, Christian’s father gave him his lucky red scarf, and said to him to come home after winning the war. Christian asked Sandra to care for the family till he returns. Everyone waved at them with a goodbye smile. Christian and Cloud along with other boys came in army area, and their training started. Everybody was assigned under a Commander. Christian’s commander was captain Sarcozy. Sarcozy was a strict man with good heart. He gave strenuous training to the cadets. He taught them not to have mercy on the enemies, otherwise they will not be able to win the war.An another commander was Mr. Nicolas. He was an evil person. He laid his eyes on Cloud and snatched Cloud from Christian. Before parting Christian tied his red scarf on Cloud’s neck. War started. Many got injured, many died. Everyday thousands of people were dying. Christian country in the end won the war.
After the war finished, thousands of soldiers were admitted in the hospital camps .Christian was injured too. In army camps Christian met Melanie,a beautiful nurse from spain. Christian was mesmerised to see Melanie. Her skin was flawless like snow . Christian became uxorious to Melanie. Everyday Christian started waiting for Melanie . Melanie too started eagerly waiting for the night to end ,and morning to start,so that she could meet Christian. Melanie praised Christian, saying, she never saw such a pure soul with noble looks. Both were madly in love with each other. Everyday, after talking with Melanie , Christian used to become sad. One day Melanie asked him inveigling the reason of his sadness. Christian replied “ I miss Cloud”.
Christian recovered. He started searching for Cloud day and night. One day Melanie heard from her friends about a horse stucking in enemy area. She told everything to Christian. Christian ran towards enemy area, in search for Cloud. Cloud was injured badly and could not stand as he was entangled in wires, all around. When he sw Christian he made hollering voices. Christian started cutting wires with a clipper, when a cadet of enemy side saw him. Christian asked him it was for the sake of his horse. Cadet allowed him to enter and promised not to attack him. Both started cutting wires together, and lastly Cloud was able to stand. Christian waved thankfully to the cadet and marched back to his camp along with cloud. Cloud was happy to see Christian. Christian hugged Cloud and started crying. At the base, Melanie was waiting for them .She was happy to see them.
At night Christian inveigling asked Melanie to marry him and come with him to his country.Melanie accepted the proposal. Together they came to Christian’s homeland. Christian’s family was waiting for them eagerly as they heard various sad news from war. Christian’s mother started running towards Christian, once she saw Christian marching towards the gates of the house. She hugged Christian and started crying. Christian’s father and sister also became extremely happy watching Christian and Cloud. Christian introduced Melanie to them. Coopers family accepted Melanie into their family. Christian remarried Melanie in front of his family and village people. Whole night, there was dance, music, wine, laughter, jokes, smiles, stories from war till everybody slept asleep. Christian asked Melanie ,is she happy?. Melanie replied “A lot”. Melanie asked Christian can she inform her family about her safety and wellbeing. Christian said “yes”. Melanie wrote a letter to her parents in spain, about her safety, and asked them to visit her.
In the spring season, Melanie parents along with Melanie sister Anna and Brother Justin came to visit her . Everybody was happy. Melanie mother cried seeing her daughter and said to her ,we thought we lost you. Melanie hugged her mother. In the afternoon everybody packed lots of food, drinks, snacks , fruits and went for a picnic in their fields. Under shade of a big tree, everybody started making camps and sitting together started telling their memories of Melanie and Christian as kids. Everybody was laughing their heart out. Later Christian made Justin, Anna, Sandra to sit on Cloud one by one, and Cloud gave a memorable ride to them. At night a bonfire was made, and Melanie and Christian’s mother started singing while rest of the family started dacing. Later they ate dinner and slept in their camps. At night Christian came to Cloud. inveigling Caressing cloud, Christian became emotional and started saying “Buddy you were beside me in everything. From happiness to war”. How would I have fought that battle without you!!. Cloud started licking Christian’s hand. Christian gave Cloud apple to eat and started cherishing his memories with Cloud.
In the morning everybody marched back to home. Melanie’s family asked for their leave as they had to travel far to their home. Christian mother packed food, fruits and gifts for the family. Christian went with them at the station. Melanie’s father asked Christian to take care of their daughter.Christian promised him to take care of Melanie through thick and thin. After the train left, Christian went to market and brought Red roses for Melanie. When Melanie saw the roses, tears started flowing through her eyes, and she kissed Christian. Christian proved a loving husband and cared Melanie the most. He not for a moment left Melanie alone. Christian family also cared for Melanie a lot. After few years, Melanie gave birth to a beautiful child. They named him Sebastian. Joy filled their home. Everybody was very happy and Christian started loving Sebastian more than anyone else. He took Sebastian to Cloud, and murmured in Cloud’s ear “Buddy this is my boy”. Cloud started licking Sebastian. Sebastian started growing and became friends with Cloud.
Cloud became Sebastian best friend. Melanie was satisfied seeing her happy family. Christian informned her Family that they have a grandchild. In Autumn of that year, Melanie’s family again visited Melanie, and again there was singing, dance, laughter, joy, smile on face of everybody. Little Sebastian became apple of eye to everyone. He was loved enormously and tenderly by everyone. His small gesters used to bring smile on everybody’s faces. Melanie wished time to stop at that moment and let her capture every tiny joyous moment in her kitty. Sometimes what a person wish for is, a happy family with love, support, care around them.
Cooper family lived happily thereafter.
