Acraylia was a young dynamic girl in her twenties, working with a big Multi National Company in Banglore.She had to relocate and leave her family behind in her hometown Masoori, to pursue her dreams .Every weekend she used to get up late , have her coffee , watch headlines on T.V and call her parents who were eagerly waiting for her daughter’s call, and to hear her whole weeks updates. Her mother always used to babble and babble for hours, asking her to eat properly ,to stay safe and not to work too late. Her Father used to say just one thing “Doll, if you feel alone, visit us, and we will be there for you always”. Acraylia was more close to her father since as a kid. After disconnecting the call, she went to sleep again, thinking all her memories of past.
[Flash back] In Ireland lived a king with his Queen, Three daughters and a Son. Son, Robert was dearly loved by his father and three sisters. Eldest sister was Rosalind , younger to her was Jaismine and youngest was Cleopatra. Robert was more close to Cleopatra. Cleopatra was a beautiful girl with golden hairs and blue eyes. Flowers used to blossom when she used to laugh and pearls used to shed from her eyes when she used to cry.
She had a boom from fairy god mother, of having the magical powers in her. She brought lots of riches in her country and was praised like a Goddess . Praise of her beauty and mystic magical powers started flowing around every corners in the world and every King wanted her as his Queen. But Cleopatra was never clamant over herself but was a gentle kind soul.
One day while playing Robert asked his sisters that he want to eat the mango on the top branch of the tree. Both of his elder sisters laughed saying “We are not tall like a mango tree brother” and like a harridan they marched towards their rooms. Cleopatra and Robert were left alone. Cleopatra then said to Mango tree, “ O giant Mango tree, become smaller, become smaller”. Mango tree started bending and bending and stopped till he reached equal to Robert and Cleopatra. Robert became happy and plucked as much as mangoes as he could have for him and his sister. Soldiers started approaching them and asked them “king is calling them”. Cleopatra then ordered Mango tree “O giant Mango tree, become larger , become larger” , and mango tree took his original shape.
Inside King Chambers King asked his loving Son, what his teachers taught him today and he said , “ Sir, Andrew taught us to care and respect for our people first, then think about the prosperity of kingdom”. King was happy and asked his son “ What kind of girl would you like to marry when you become a king ?”.
Robert said “One like sister Cleopatra.”.King became serious for a moment and then laughed over the words of his young Son.
Next day, King send his men all around the world, to find a girl exactly similar as his own daughter Cleopatra . Days passed and then months, after six month all his men came empty handed. All the commanders said they have not seen anyone like princess Cleopatra, “kind, gentle, beautiful and yet so powerful as magical Goddess”. King ordered them to leave his presence at once. King thought and thought and after many days took a very insane decision.
He ordered engagement of his son Robert with his daughter Cleopatra. Everyone in kingdom was shocked. Hearing this, Queen went into a strange disease. She was not able to talk or walk. Complete paralysis spread over her body.
On the night of engagement, Cleopatra took her Brother Robert with her and fled with him.Cleopatra was blamned for cavilling. King sent his men to search for them but none could find them due to magical powers of Cleopatra. She used to turn herself and her brother into a tree or a frog, whenever king’s men used to be around them. After months journey ,Cleopatra and Robert came in a kingdom of Quarth, ruled by king Sebastian. King Sebastian while on a hunt found Cleopatra around a lake.
He was so imitidated by Cleopatra’s beauty that he offered her to marry him. Cleopatra said she would marry him,only when her brother Robert would be living with her in Palace. King Sebastian accepted her proposal. Months passed, and Cleopatra became even more beautiful and her kingdom flourished with jewels and happiness. None was poor, begger or cladded in ragged clothes. All were happy with their Queen and Sebastian was falling in love more and more with Cleopatra day by day.Cleopatra was always attentive to Robert. This used to make Sebastian jealous.
Cleopatra was not aware of it. One day king planned to go on hunting with his friends. Robert pleaded him to take him too. Sebastian agreed . While on hunting , Sebastian was not able to kill any animal. In anger, and to protect his respect he killed Robert and brought his pieces home. While at home Cleopatra asked him about his brother.Sebastian said he is coming with his friends. While at dinner, Cleopatra was eating the soup of deer which king killed, and she felt something in her mouth. When she pulled out, she found fingers of her brother Robert and she cried out loud as she was Gulled by her own husband,that blood started coming from her eyes and she cursed whole kingdom of Sebastian”.
[Reality] Suddenly Acraylia in fear got up from her sleep and realised it was just a dream!. It was one of her favourite stories which her father used to tell her while sleeping.She has always been fond of princess Cleopatra, her blue eyes and her golden hairs. Many times she used to see the same dream again and again as she always wanted to go into her past and listen to this story again and again from her father.
But after coming away from her family she realised importance of her family and whenever she used to feel alone, she used to think about her time in past and her days with her family. Many times she wished it to be exactly the way it was in past,when she had no worries about her career. Success for her was to play with her friends and that simple strawberry icecream was her diamond jewel to her. Everybody used to think Acraylia is happy and satisfied with her life, but an emptiness has filled her heart and she wanted to leave everything , come home back to her family and live a life with no worries to think about any bills to pay and worries of being alone if she hurts anyone, cause her family would always be with her through her thick and thin.
In modern times,it has become a culture. Everyone is migrating to higher levels, to achieve more success ,more name and fame.
Poor people Migrate to towns from villages.Middle class people migrate to Metropolitian cities . Elite/Upper class travel abroad and many settle there as they feel more liberal and open in foreign lands. Everybody is travelling continuously. None is stopping for a moment for peace. Nobody thinks peace is primary for living.
Peace of mind and soul is primary rest are secondary means to make us happy in a materialistic world.
Acraylia was also no different than any and was following everybody else. Those early getting up in morning , running to metros, doing jobs, late nights shifts in office, then running back to home. There is no time to notice whether its day or night. Sleeping tirelessly at night and next day again the same schedule starts. Life has become too busy for people to give time to anyone.
People have started running away from commitments and relationships have become secondary to young generation. Everybody has got a phobia for commitments.
Young generation think that if they will give their commitment to anyone they will get chain to the same person for ages.
Time changed and relationships have been substituted with career, Commitments with excuses, big house with empty rooms have made people sick of each other, in such a way that they dream about their good past, and want to live that life again and again like Acraylia who away from home lives in a strange city, and whenever she gets time goes in her past and lives her life like it was before.
Everybody likes a carefree and careless life with no responsibility,and to roam free around with no one to answer for.
Acraylia took leave of one week, and went to meet her parents.She came to her hometown. Her Dad was waiting for her at the airport. She hugged him and came home. Her mom cooked all her favourites. She hugged her and tears filled her eyes. And they were eating and talking , laughing and she was telling her mom about her office,her friends , colleagues ,and again it felt like one big happy family, with no worries and no loneliness.
Lying in her bed, in her home, in her room with her parents around , Acraylia felt safe and slept peacefully.
In yore days atleast people used to get jobs
